Overview:
SciMetrika, LLC is seeking a Scientist to provide Toxicological expertise regarding the evaluation of substances of public health concern, providing guidance concerning the appropriate uses of data to regulatory agencies and other groups involved with health-related research, and communicating with stakeholders. The Scientific Coordinator on this project will interact with professionals at all levels who are engaged in conducting toxicological evaluations of substances of public health concern, developing and validating testing methods, developing approaches and generating data to strengthen the science base for risk assessment, and communicating with stakeholders. The Coordinator plays a critical role and must be knowledgeable in all tasks of the research projects, communicate well, and provide a high level of professional service.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews work and requests to ensure that the full impact on all tasks is understood and incorporated into planning;
- Serves as the first line resource and mentor for other members of the project team concerning NTP processes and procedures;
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency;
- Identifies, investigates and resolves issues regarding data and consistency and appraises the research community of potential issues or problems;
- Reviews the requirements for reports, web sites and applications from the researcher perspective and recommends changes to improve usability;
- Assists personnel in using NTP resources and recommends changes to procedures, applications and processes to improve service and oversees implementation when approved;
- Creates, updates and reviews documentation to use project supported services and applications and develops training materials and provides initial and on-going training to personnel.
Education:
BS or MS in toxicology (preferred) or closely related field of study (biology, medical, epidemiology, public health, or environmental science)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of toxicology experience in public health, environmental, pharmaceutical, medical or biotechnology field
- Good understanding of providing scientific data, interpretations, and guidance for health-related research
- Experience in supporting data research and training researchers in utilization of data extraction tools
- Experience with supporting IT and data management professionals
- Knowledge of policies and procedures utilized in the NTP (preferred)
- Ability to interact with various professionals in regulatory and research agencies (preferred)
Location:
