Associate Toxiologist
SciMetrika is seeking an Associate Toxicologist who will work on Environmental Risk and Toxicology contracts in our Environmental Health group. The work involves supporting development of risk assessments and toxicology profiles. This position does not involve hands-on laboratory or field work. The successful candidate will be located in our Durham office in Research Triangle Park.
JOB PURPOSE:
This entry to mid-level Toxicologist will assist a Senior Toxicologist in the development of risk assessments and toxicology profiles. The expectations for this position will be to independently conduct a literature search and review the literature to draft initial thoughts on chemicals under review. This position will be expected to contribute to development of documents by providing toxicology study summaries, generating tables and figures, assisting in formatting the document, and technical editing. The position may be required to assist in the execution of contracts by coordinating tasks such as lab services or meeting with clients. The ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience in Toxicology and Technical Writing.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Literature searching and review
- Writing toxicology study summaries
- Contributing to development of risk assessments and toxicology documents (ie. generating figures and tables, formatting, and technical editing)
- Coordinate environmental laboratory testing
- Prepare progress reports for clients
- Coordinate meetings (ie. preparing agendas ,and meeting minutes)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Toxicology or closely related field (0-3 years experience)
- Knowledge of standard risk assessment practices
- Technical writing experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
- Attention to details and high level of accuracy
- Efficient, driven, willing to go the extra mile
- Customer-service oriented
