Senior Health Behavior Researcher
SciMetrika, is seeking a Senior Public Health Researcher/Project Manager to work in our Durham, NC office or our Atlanta, GA office. The Senior Public Health Researcher/Project Manager will work as a member of the Health Education, Behavior and Evaluation team. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and performing technical work on contracts and/or task orders in the assigned program area or other related functional areas. In addition, s/he will also be responsible for managing staff on diverse Health Education, Behavior, and Evaluation projects and for implementing quality assurance processes. S/he will report to the Health Education, Behavior, and Evaluation Program Manager.
The candidate will be expected to take the lead on a number of research projects and contribute to business development by writing proposals. In addition, the candidate will lend his/her expertise in one or more content areas of public health (which should include program evaluation) to the Health Education, Behavior and Evaluation team and others as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing diversity of health behavior and evaluation projects, including:
- Conceptualizing and designing research studies
- Providing solutions to project technical problems
- Developing and monitoring work plans and timelines
- Developing and monitoring quality assurance guidelines
- Scheduling meetings with clients and facilitating conference calls
- Managing completion of deliverables and/or completing deliverables
- Leading project review sessions with clients to discuss cost, schedule and technical performance
- Managing staff responsible for other health behavior, health education, and health evaluation team projects, including handling day-to-day project-related issues
- Implementing quality assurance guidelines and procedures for health behavior, health education, and health evaluation team projects (e.g., reviewing project deliverables)
- Contributing to and leading writing of business proposals as needed
- Contributing to and leading writing of publications and attends/presents at conferences
- Contributing areas of expertise to all teams as needed
- Serving as an IDIQ contract manager or Task Order leader
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Phd in Public Health or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing, planning and implementing studies and/or programs or interventions
- Content knowledge of behavioral and social science theories, experience with quantitative and qualitative research with a focus on qualitative research, and an understanding of the public health funding landscape
- Experience in public health research consulting or other relevant corporate experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access) is essential in this fast-paced client-oriented environment. Candidates must have well-developed writing skills with an attention to detail.
- Willingness to relocate or travel is required
- Experience with government contracting a plus
