President & CEO
Dr. Orelien founded SciMetrika, LLC in 2001. He has more than a decade of experience as a senior statistician and project manager on projects funded by agencies of the Department of Health and Human Services. He is an expert in the development of sophisticated statistical programs, the utilization of statistical methods to analyze epidemiological data, survey analysis, and the use of SUDAAN and SAS software.
Dr. Orelien received his doctorate of public health in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master of statistics from North Carolina State University. He has authored a number of technical and scientific papers and presentations and is a member of the American Statistical Association and the American Public Health Association.
Lisa B. Lipscomb, MA, PHR, GPHR
Vice President & Chief People Officer
As the Chief People Officer, Ms. Lipscomb is charged with aligning people development initiatives with business strategy, and directs all efforts to recruit, develop and retain top talent. She has more than 17 years of experience in human resources management in industries including finance, manufacturing, engineering, and staffing. Her commitment to deploying technology and streamlining operational processes is geared towards facilitating rapid growth and increased profitability.
Ms. Lipscomb received her master of arts degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA. She also has earned PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources) certifications.
Gerald M. (Gerry) Schuetz, CPA
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Schuetz is responsible for all accounting, treasury, and financial analysis activities for the company. Mr. Schuetz has a strong background in managing and developing accounting systems, streamlining financial operations, and maintaining adequate internal control procedures to safeguard corporate assets and provide corporate governance. He has held numerous key financial positions including Director of Finance for SRA International, Inc., CFO for The Signature Agency, and VP of Finance and Accounting for Constella Group, LLC.
Mr. Schuetz holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. A licensed certified public accountant in the states of North Carolina and Illinois, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Shirley Arvey
Director of Atlanta Operations
As Director of Atlanta Operations, Ms. Arvey is responsible for managing SciMetrika's portfolio of projects and generating new business. She helps to shape the strategic direction and technical implementation of programs related to management consulting and technical assistance. She also supervises all SciMetrika employees working at government sites in the Atlanta, GA area. Ms. Arvey has over nineteen years of experience in improving business processes, re-engineering programs as well as developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for building revenue, reducing costs and improving operational efficiency and quality. Prior to joining SciMetrika, she served as a Program Manager at Booz Allen Hamilton and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Ms. Arvey served 15 years at Delta Airlines in roles of increasing responsibility on projects involving technology re-engineering and integration, business process improvement and strategic marketing initiatives. She received her bachelor degree in Management Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT). Her Six Sigma Black Belt certification also was earned at GIT.
John Dorries, PMP
Director of Program Management Office
As Director of SciMetrika's Program Management Office (PMO), Mr. Dorries oversees the development and consistent implementation of project management principles, standards and procedures across the organization. He has over 20 years of experience managing large healthcare programs involving complex project portfolios, establishing PMOs to align projects with corporate strategic goals, and coaching managers in the predictable and repeatable use of project management tools and techniques. His recent positions include senior management positions at Booz Allen Hamilton where he led healthcare projects and programs for the National Institutes of Health, Veterans Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration. Mr. Dorries received his bachelor of arts degree in environmental writing from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA and his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Nichole H. Kagwisa
Director of Business Development
Ms. Kagwisa leads SciMetrika's corporate business development activities and is responsible for growing the company's business pipeline. She has almost a decade of experience providing strategic planning, business development, and capture and proposal management support for government and commercial opportunities valued at up to $2B. Prior to joining SciMetrika, she was a proposal manager in SAIC's Public Health Solutions Group and Health Solutions Business Unit. Ms. Kagwisa also has founded several small businesses that deliver business development, information technology, and business process re-engineering solutions, including Hoban & Associates, Inc., and Peak Group and Associates, LLC. Ms. Kagwisa received her bachelor of science in business management and organizational development from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA. She is Shipley certified and is a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals.
Jessica Lazenby, JD, MSPH
Director of Contracts
As SciMetrika's Director of Contracts, Ms. Lazenby is responsible for negotiating and administering contracts and subcontracts, issuing teaming agreements, monitoring contract compliance, and designing pricing tools and strategies. Prior to becoming Director of Contracts, Ms. Lazenby led SciMetrika's management consulting program which serves federal clients including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ms. Lazenby has received formal training in both public health and law. She earned her juris doctor degree (with honors) from the School of Law, University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, NC, a master of science degree in epidemiology from the School of Public Health, also at UNC, and a bachelor of science degree (with honors) in Human Development from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Kathleen Schindler
Director of Client Relations
As Director of Client Relations, Ms. Schindler crafts strategies and implements programs to expand SciMetrika’s client base, penetrate new markets and increase market share. She has over 20 years of experience supporting client relations, marketing, business development, acquisition integration, and operational activities in government contracting companies operating in the public health domain. Ms. Schindler's recent positions include Director of Marketing, Global Health at SRA International, Inc, and Director of Marketing, Public Sector at Constella Group, LLC. She received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and is a member of the Healthcare Business Women's Association and the American Marketing Association.
